Smart Dictation is for scenarios where a patient is not present: post-op notes, medicolegal reports, follow-up letters, or situations where the doctor simply prefers to dictate. No. Medow's Smart Dictation understands natural speech and adds punctuation, paragraph breaks, and formatting automatically. You speak the way you would to a colleague, and Medow structures the output as a complete, formatted letter, personalised to your desired structure and formatting.
Each specialty has its own dedicated AI model with a custom specialist dictionary. When you dictate, Medow draws on the terminology, clinical hierarchy, and context specific to your field. Low-confidence words are flagged in the transcript for your review — so if something is misheard, it is easy to catch and correct before approving the letter.
Yes. A single dictation can generate a GP letter, a patient-facing letter, and internal consult notes simultaneously. Each is adapted for its recipient: the GP letter uses appropriate clinical language, the patient letter is written in plain English. You review each one and approve with a single click.
Dragon Medical is speech-to-text software: it transcribes your words literally, including requiring you to dictate punctuation commands. Medow is an AI documentation platform: it understands sentences, adds formatting automatically, applies specialist clinical reasoning to structure the output, and syncs the completed letter directly into your PMS.
